Performance Marketing Guide
A deeper look
TML's performance marketing service plans and runs paid media across Google, Meta, YouTube and LinkedIn as one programme, with budgets moved between channels based on cost per lead, cost per sale and return on ad spend rather than clicks or reach.

Measurement first: tracking that every channel agrees on
Performance marketing only works when the numbers are trustworthy. Before we scale any spend, we audit how conversions are recorded today: which events fire, whether form fills and calls are counted twice, whether purchases reach the ad platforms, and whether Google and Meta are each claiming the same sale.
We then set up GA4 conversion events, Google Ads and Meta conversion tracking, server-side or Conversions API signals where they help, and call tracking for businesses that close by phone. For lead-based businesses, we connect CRM stages so campaigns can be judged on qualified leads and closed deals, not only form submissions.
Choosing the channel mix
Search ads capture people who are already looking for what you sell, so Google Ads is usually where we start for service businesses and high-intent products. Meta and YouTube create demand among people who are not searching yet, which suits visual products, launches and offers that need explaining. LinkedIn is useful for B2B offers where job title and company size matter more than cost per click.
We do not split budget evenly across every platform. We start with the channels most likely to convert for your offer and market, prove them, and only then add new channels with a clear test budget and success threshold.
Creative and landing pages: where most gains come from
Bidding and targeting matter, but on modern ad platforms the biggest differences usually come from the offer, the creative and the page the click lands on. Our in-house design and video team produces static, carousel and short-form video ads, and we test new angles every month instead of running the same ads until they tire.
Landing pages are built or reworked to match the ad, load quickly on mobile and make the next step obvious. Where traffic allows, we A/B test headlines, proof and forms so improvements are measured rather than guessed.

Common questions
What is the difference between performance marketing and PPC management?
PPC management usually means running one or two search ad accounts. Performance marketing covers every paid channel as one programme, including social, video and B2B platforms, with tracking, creative and landing pages managed alongside so budget can move to whichever channel performs best.
Which channels do you manage?
Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Display and YouTube), Meta Ads on Facebook and Instagram, and LinkedIn Ads. We recommend a channel mix based on your offer, market and sales cycle rather than running every platform by default.
How soon will we see results?
Campaigns start collecting data within the first weeks. Most accounts need a learning and testing period before cost per lead or return on ad spend settles, and we report progress against agreed targets from the first month.
Do we keep ownership of the ad accounts?
Yes. Campaigns run in ad accounts owned by your business, with TML given access. Your data, audiences and history stay with you if you ever change agencies.
How is a performance marketing engagement scoped?
We start with a free audit of your current paid media and tracking. Scope then depends on how many channels and markets you need managed and whether we produce creative and landing pages. You receive an itemised proposal with management shown separately from ad spend.
